Mehron Spirit Gum Adhesive Remover is designed to safely dissolve and detach the Mehron Spirit Gum Adhesive strong bond between skin and the prosthetic appliance. You never pull, tug or lift it off without the help of a dissolving fluid, or you risk some serious and permanent surface damage and redness to skin! Using Mehron’s solvent based Spirit Gum Remover will gently yet effectively detach the adhesive bond from the resin and allow you to quickly and smoothly remove the appliance. Most importantly, it doesn't contain any Naphtha, which is a very strong solvent that can cause serious skin irritation.
To use simply saturate a brush, sponge tip applicator or cotton swab with the remover. Start at an edge and work the remover over that until it lifts and loosens a corner. Then work the remover under the appliance corner (re-applying remover as needed) to remove and lift the appliance, and continue working the remover under the appliance and lifting in this manner until the prosthetic is completely removed.
Use more Spirit Gum Remover to clean the skin and appliance of any remaining spirit gum residue. If you are using the remover to detach any false hair applications, you can also use it to clean off any remaining residue on the wigs or lace front hair pieces. Once skin is cleared of any remaining adhesive residue, wash the area with cleanser or soap and water water and use moisturizer as necessary. It is strongly suggested that a skin balancing product be applied to skin immediately after any adhesive removal to restore the skin's surface and pH balance, and prevent any after effects of irritation due to prosthetic wear.
